The San Antonio Art League & Museum (SAALM) proudly presents the 23rd Annual Collegiate Art Exhibition, a showcase of outstanding student artwork from area colleges and universities. This exhibition continues SAALM’s long-standing tradition of supporting emerging artists by providing them with a professional museum exhibition experience.
The opening reception will take place on Sunday, February 23, from 3–5 PM at SAALM, 130 King William Street in the historic King William Arts District. The event is free and open to the public. The exhibition will be on view from February 18 through March 22, 2025. Celebrating the Next Generation of Artists Each year, colleges and universities across the region are invited to submit student works for consideration. The Collegiate Exhibition offers a rare opportunity for young artists to exhibit their work in a professional museum setting, gaining valuable experience in visual arts practice while sharing their creativity with the community. Many of the artworks featured will also be available for purchase, providing art enthusiasts with the chance to support emerging talent. Honoring a Legacy of Artistic Excellence A highlight of the exhibition is the presentation of the Best in Show Award in memory of Eloise Yantis Stoker, a beloved artist, educator, and icon of the San Antonio Art League. Stoker, who founded the annual Collegiate Exhibition 23 years ago, was a passionate advocate for arts education. In recognition of her legacy, SAALM’s board of directors established the Eloise Yantis Stoker Award, which will be presented to one outstanding student artist. This year’s exhibition also includes generous awards sponsored by Robert and Rosie Escamilla and an additional award given in honor of Lionel and Cathy Sosa. These awards, along with other cash prizes, will be presented at the opening reception on February 23, 2025. Acclaimed artist Billy Keen will serve as the juror for this year’s awards, selecting works that exemplify artistic excellence and innovation.
