In this workshop, investigate and map your best and strongest ways of working, thinking and making. You’ll leave the workshop with a metacognitive* perspective of your unique process of working and how your voice shows up in your work. Susie Monday will lead you through exercises that will help you see your creative process with new clarity and expansive imagination, using simple materials and tools. Bring either small photos of 5 things you have made or digital versions on a phone or tablet of the same. These examples can be finished art, sketch book pages, environmental creations, gardens, garments or adornments -- anything creative goes! This workshop is intended for all levels of experience.
* Metacognition is "thinking about thinking." It involves being aware of and regulating one's own cognitive processes, such as planning, monitoring, and evaluating learning. It's a crucial skill for learning, problem-solving, and decision-making. |

- 9 x 12 envelope of interesting trim, bobbles, embellishments, small scraps of fabric, found objects, metal pieces, etc (You may want to bring some that you are willing to share and/ or trade.
- Glue stick and/or a glue such as Elmers or PVA
- Scissors for mixed media (don’t bring your best sewing scissors)
- Matt knife or Xacto knife and blades
- Cutting mat or old magazine to use for cutting
- Ephemera such as cut out images, old tickets, maps, meaningful photos (copies so that you can cut them up)
- Markers and/or crayons or other mark making tools
- OPTIONAL: Hot glue gun and glue
