The San Antonio Art League and the San Antonio Potters Guild present a unique collaborative exhibition
In this unique exhibition, artists explore the interpretations of clay as a medium and a concept through 40 clay/ceramic works and 40 paintings/wall pieces.
ART LEAGUE MEMBERS SUBMISSIONS 2D/Wall-Hung Pieces: Artworks should express the theme of clay as a concept or as a literal medium – for example, a painting of a broken clay pot, a collage of earth-colored strata, a mixed-media paper mosaic, a photograph of potters’ hands – within the confines of a 20 x 20 x 2” canvas or equivalent. Specifications: The 40 two-dimensional wall pieces from San Antonio Art League members must be done on a 20x20x2" surface (canvas, birch panel, etc.) The 3-D clay works from the San Antonio Potters' Guild must fit within a virtual 20x20x20” square with no dimension longer or wider. |
JUROR:
Paula Owen, President and CEO at Southwest School of Art Awards: $500 Best of Show $200 Award of Merit $100 Honorable Mention Artists must agree to adhere to the dimensional requirements of 20x20x2” stretched canvas or wood panel for visual consistency in the exhibition All media are acceptable. Computer enhanced photography will be considered and must be designated as such. |
Artists must be a current member of the San Antonio Art League to submit 20x20" works for show and sale in this exhibit. There is a $10 entry fee for up to two artworks. This fee will be used toward the cost of the exhibition and catalog.
