Rotating every ninety days, the members gallery contains all the diversity of styles and subject matter that is encompassed in the league's own diverse membership.

A collection of surprising breadth and depth that includes prominent Texas artists, founding members of the Taos Society of Artists, Impressionists who painted alongside Monet at Giverny, and landscape painters from Ohio, California, and the American South.

We always kick off our new, featured exhibits with a reception. We also host artist talks, and we have an annual Christmas party for our members. Here are some events we've got planned, including upcoming exhibits.
Event
Celebrate the opening of this members-only exhibition that shares the sense of wonder that often accompanies the close of the year. This all-media exhibition invites artists to share original, affordable artwork that inspires delight, reflection, curiosity, and joy.

We're inviting artists to submit their work
Each year we have multiple exhibitions for which we invite submissions from artists. In some cases, submissions are limited to SAAL+M members (but you can join in order to participate). In other cases, they are open to artists throughout Texas. Here are calls that are currently open or coming up.
Workshops
Throughout the year, San Antonio artists lead classes and workshops in our Semmes Studio facility. These limited-size workshops cover everything from painting and drawing to collage, ceramics, and printmaking. Here's what's coming up.
Turn your memories, observations, and everyday adventures into a journal that is uniquely yours! In this engaging hands-on workshop, instructor Susan Lanford will guide participants through the process of creating and binding a personalized handmade journal.
