DOCENT/VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM

Exhibit Installation/Deinstallation

• Assist with art and sculpture handling in preparation for and during exhibit installation and deinstallation.
• Requires some training prior to first shift.
• Prepare artifacts for safe transport to and from annex to galleries
• Ensure safe display of artwork for temporary exhibits with Installation team.

Location – Main Galleries and Annex
Commitment – as needed, three to four times a year




Sculpture Garden and Museum Grounds

• Work with Buildings and Grounds Chair to determine priorities
• Develop a schedule for grounds enhancement – water plants, clean fountain, etc
• Contribute ideas for landscape and front porch plant design
• Research King William Association landscape guidelines in relations to SAALM

Location – Main Galleries and Annex
Commitment – as needed, three to four times a year




Social Media Team

• Develop and popularize hashtags for #SAALM
• Photograph events and post to SAALM Instagram/Facebook page
• Share upcoming special events at SAALM across social media
• Design ways to increase exposure through social media – ie, a selfie wall

Location – Main Galleries, grounds and studios and across social media platforms
Commitment – as needed, ongoing according to events and opportunities




Special Events/Hospitality

• Coordinate with Exhibition and Event Chairs to determine need for refreshments for events
• Set up tables and bar, recruit friends to help at events
  
• Act as server and/or bartender, greeter as needed
• Arrange reception area to coordinate but not compete with art on exhibit

Commitment – as needed, three to four times a year
