SUMMER BLOCKBUSTER EXHIBIT
JUNE 8-AUGUST 8, 2025
JUNE 8-AUGUST 8, 2025
This summer, the San Antonio Art League & Museum (SAAL+M) invites visitors to experience a feast for the senses in The Fine ART of Dining, an imaginative juried exhibition where art and table culture meet in delightfully unexpected ways. On view from June 8 through August 8, 2025, this unique show transforms the museum’s historic galleries into immersive table settings—elevating the everyday ritual of dining into an artistic expression of community, celebration, and creativity.
Rather than conventional display walls, The Fine ART of Dining features sculptural and visual artworks arranged as full-scale table installations, complete with centerpieces, place settings, serving pieces, utensils, and more. Works from artists across Texas—ceramicists, fiber artists, painters, and sculptors—come together in a whimsical, elegant, and sometimes provocative exploration of what it means to gather and share a meal.
The juror for this exhibition is Deborah N. Ellington, M.F.A., a respected studio artist and educator whose background in ceramics and painting brings a discerning eye to this multifaceted show. Visitors can expect an inspiring mix of fine art and functional form, along with curated wall pieces that complement and extend the dining table narratives.
