NEW!! Learn to make multicolored screen prints with one pull of the screen using water soluble media, including acrylic paints, water soluble crayons and charcoal. We will start with paper stencils on a small screen and print with water-soluble crayons.
Next you'll prepare a hand-drawn screen with drawing fluid and block out fluid for a more complex designs Bring ideas for simple designs.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Susie Monday, SAALM's artist of the year in 2025, has been teaching art since the age of 12. She graduated from Trinity University with a degree in studio art and studied there with Bob Tiemann, Elizabeth Ridenhauer and faculty. After graduation Susie worked at Trinity University's Learning about Learning Educational Foundation, teaching and training teachers around the country. She later designed the first San Antonio Children's Museum and worked on designs and programs for the San Antonio Botanical Gardens, the San Antonio Library Foundation and other public art programs.

Small printing screen for each participant with Bondo scraper for squeegee (students will take home their screens and squeegees for future use.
Bond paper for stencils

Water container for cleaning screens

Students should bring:
sketchbook for designing
pencil/pen
medium to large sponge
apron or work clothes
small water containers (2-4)
old towel for print padding
paper cutting scissors
disposable clothes if you wish
