We will be including local flora, photographic negatives, and other found objects. We’ll explore the gardens of the Art Museum and surrounds, and wander down to the river walk to collect inspiration. You are free to bring along objects with clearly defined outlines/silhouettes that speak to you, however all supplies are provided.
Your instructor will guide you through the basics of creating a negative from any image on your computer, and will provide you with a wide assortment of negatives she’s created to use if you like. This introduction to cyanotype is suitable for any level of art experience, from beginner to advanced. Afterwards, expect to feel confident creating your own cyanotype prints at home. Melissa Grace Young is a painter and mixed media art journaling instructor, with her Wild Persimmon Art Studio set in the Texas Hill Country outside Dripping Springs.
